Introduction Series: The Multiplex Universe of ModPers

I like the phrase "multiplex universe" because to me it means that at any given moment, many events can be in progress.

That's a good description of how our brains work and how life works. ModPers is like that in that we will have several "conversations" going on simultaneously between blog postings. You may observe different series where we cultivate varied topics, and you are free to engage in any or all as your interests direct.

The Modest Perspicacious Librarian is a lifestyle blog that uses librarian-ship as a tool to help others find and curate meaningful content and idea. That content can be limitless.

Libraries traditionally offer information in the categories of fiction (not true) and nonfiction (true or fact). People are able to use this information for learning and entertainment. The best part is that you can do both from either category.

• I'd like to teach a bit of information literacy within ModPers to help others learn how to look for desired information.

• I'd like to make suggestions on how to build algorithms based on your preferences so that you can curate your social media to your liking, interest, and learning.

• I'd like to converse about "holy things" (Nacho Libre reference) because that's a particular interest of mine.

• I'd like to discuss topics that encompass the "business" of libraries and museums.

• I'd like to engage with readers to talk about life in general and suggest books and suggestions on how to find more information. For example, I enjoy plants and flowers. We can talk about fun facts and admire beautiful plants and flowers. Then I can share with you that you can go to your local library and look in the 580s and 710s sections (Dewey decimal) for info about plants and landscaping. Or suggest some fun social media in which to engage.

So these are just a few items to offer to get us going in the ModPers world, oh my bad "MULTIPLEX UNIVERSE."

That was a bit dramatic and extra. I can be that way sometimes. It's fun!
